Prepare items the night before.
Attached is a handy race check list that will help you with what to bring.

Arrive early.
Remember: you need time to park, find the team pit, get your bike
checked, get your food ready (taped to the bike), be sure you have
water, and still be ON TIME for your pre-race warm up. Arrive earlier
than you think you need to. The more smoothly your pre-race goes, the
more FUN the whole day will be. Allow for 2 hours of travel time.

Bring parking $$.
Folsom Lake State Recreation area charges a $10 fee (per vehicle) at the gate.

Arrive with a clean & working bike.
Lincoln, our race-day mechanic, will be ready to check your bikes- but
they should already be in good working order.

Bring a signed NorCal waiver (available at the NorCal web site) if you
are not sure you are race ready.
Parents must sign! PLEASE print out the form and have them sign it!
You can't race if race officials don't have a parent-signed waiver.

Set your goals for the race.
All first time racers should only have two goals: to have fun and to
finish. Returning racers should have a conversation with coaches about
goals.

Eat a meal rich in carbohydrates and some protein three hours before
the start of your race. As often as possible throughout your morning
pre-race, be conscious of calming your mind, slowing your breathing,
and envision yourself feeling strong and confident on the race course.
This exercise is called visualization and will help you feel good all
day.

Check in with your coaches when you arrive.
Below are your race times and the time we need you ready for warm-ups.
Be on time.

WAVE 1: The FIERCE FEMALES of MTB: Be ready for your warm-up by 9:00.
Var Girls at 10:00 (3 laps, 18 miles)
JV Girls race at 10:05 (2 laps, 12 miles)
Frosh Girls at 10:15 (2 laps, 12 miles)

WAVE 2: The DARING DUDES of MTB: Be ready for your warm-up by 10:40.
Soph Boys race at 11:40 (3 laps, 18 miles)
Frosh Boys at 11:50 (2 laps, 12 miles)

WAVE 3: The MERCILESS MEN of MTB: Be ready for your warm-up by 12:10.
JV Boys at 1:10 (3 laps, 18 miles)

Again, visualize yourself feeling good on the course.

Don't forget to bring a change of clothes to put on after you finish
so you can be comfortable while you are photographed by your adoring
fans & paparazzi.

FYI if you'd like to pre-ride the course will be open on Saturday & in
the morning before the race.
